In 2012, music icon Whitney Houston was found dead, face-down in a hotel bathroom. Eerily enough, last week Houston’s 21-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was found face-down in the bathtub of her home where, though initially unresponsive, emergency medical responders were able to revive her and rush her to a nearby hospital.
Since then, Bobbi’s condition has fluctuated, but the latest reports indicate she is suffering from seizures and has been moved to a new hospital, Emory University Hospital. Sources close the patient say they are optimistic, but preparing for the worst.

The Wrap reports doctors are working to reduce inflammation in Bobbi Kristina’s brain, but family members have been advised not to read too much into perceived improvements, like periodic opening of the eyes.

Bobbi’s condition is very guarded, and full extent of her condition may not be known until she is taken off the sedatives keeping her comfortable.
Not much else is known about Houston’s daughter’s condition, and a statement from Bobbi’s father has requested the media respect his family’s privacy.
“Privacy is requested in this matter,” Bobby said in a statement to E! News. “Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
Though drugs were implicated in the death of Whitney Houston, no current evidence of any illegal substances exists in the case of Bobbi Kristina.
Officer Lisa Holland who is apart of the investigation stated, “As to speculation about the involvement of drugs or alcohol in the incident, so the police took a search warrant on the home.
Before the warrant initially when the police went into the home there [was] nothing there that indicated that anything out of the ordinary happened. There were no drugs out in the open. We dont leave any stone unturned, she added.
Inflammation of the brain, also known as brain edema, can be caused by many different things, though the assumption with celebrities tends to always lean toward drug abuse.

While illicit drugs can certainly cause brain edema, many natural causes exist. According to WebMD, a blow to the head, stroke, infection, high altitude, and tumors can all cause brain edema.
Until more details are released, the benefit of the doubt should be given to Bobbi Kristina.
