If you are lucky enough to see your significant other on the 14th then take advantage of every moment but for those that are not as lucky, don’t worry! There are ways to be closer to the person you love.

Send a Gift

Nowadays, there are so many ways to demonstrate your love ?especially with the help of technology. Many restaurants and businesses include delivery services. Why not surprise your loved one with a bouquet of roses or an edible arrangement? Maybe purchasing something on Amazon and sending it their way? If there’s no time to buy a gift, send them a playlist with the best love songs. Whatever the case, giving a gift to a far away loved one should not be a hassle.

Video Calling

Solid Wi-Fi and a computer is all you need this V-Day! Skype might be the best thing ever created for couples that are making it work long distance. It can also be downloaded as an app on your smart phone so your other half is just a video call away.

Another form of video chatting is FaceTime. This works if both of you own an iPhone. It’s free, easy and makes you feel like you’re both in the same room. It’s the video form of texting so surprise the person you love with a FaceTime session.

Texting

This is an oldie but always a goodie. The closer it gets to Valentine’s Day the more you should be texting. This will make both of you feel more connected. If you’re not the greatest texter, make a conscious effort to send that “Good Morning” text knowing that it will bring a smile to their face.

Phone Calls

And if texting is really not your forte, an old school phone call always does the trick. Find a time when you’re both not busy, specially if there’s a time difference, and leave that spot open to talk. Scheduling a time slot for the other person will make you feel like they are closer to you. Treat it like a phone date!
