The Spanish Academy award-winning actor has joined forces with actor Sean Penn to give life to the upcoming American action thriller film “The Gunman” directed by French Pierre Morel –known for directing the first part of the “Taken” trilogy starring Liam Neeson.
In “The Gunman,” Bardem takes on the role of Felix, a villain that will work “mano a mano” with Penn’s leading character Martin Terrier ?an international operative who wants out of the game, so he can settle down with his longtime love.
In the action-packed movie, Felix and his sidekick Dupont (Idris Elba) –a mysterious and ruthless operative– run all over Europe in a fatal game of cat and mouse. Actress Jasmine Trinca is the female lead of the movie, who is married to Bardem’s character.
Without ruining much of the forthcoming flick for you, Remezcla found the perfect description for Bardem’s character, stating:
Bardem manages to convince as a terrifying and remorseless nutjob, hiding behind a thinking mans spectacles and well-tailored continental suits. But who knows? Maybe the guys got a soft side.
“The Gunman” will hit theaters nationwide on March 20th.
