The 87th Academy Awards is just around the corner so get your head around what to expect this year at the Oscars. Here is everything you need to know about the big night.

The Host
Last year comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres set a high standard for Neil Patrick Harris, who will serve as host on Sunday night.
The “How I Met Your Mother” star isn’t shy about admitting his nerves after DeGeneres broke the internet with her famous selfie.

“It worked out so well and it’s this horrible dark cloud above my head now. How do you beat the selfie that broke the internet?” Harris told DeGeneres during his appearance on her show.
The Nominees
The biggest stars in the world will all come together under Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre’s roof to honor Actors that have made a mark in cinema throughout the past year.
The nominees for the most popular categories, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Picture, are as follows:
Best Actor: Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne.
Best Actress: Marion Cotillard, Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike, Reese Witherspoon.
Best Picture: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, Whiplash.

All nominees receive incredible gift bags worth $125,000 that include extravagant gifts such as a 3-night Tuscany Vacation, a camping gift worth over $12,000 and even a year worth of Audi A4 car rentals!
Presenters
Along with the nominees, there are a bunch of great celebrities presenting awards on the big night. The most popular include Ben Affleck, Jared Leto and Latina sensations Jennifer Lopez and Zoe Saldana.

Performers
The crowd and viewers at home will remain entertained with some live stage performances by artists including Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Adam Levine, and the host himself, Neil Patrick Harris who will perform an original musical sequence.
