Carlos Vives, music visionary and inspired creator of the rock movement “El Rock de Mi Pueblo” or The Rock of my Town,” will be a special guest at the closing of Recepcion de Devolucion on March 3rd in Madrid, Spain.
The event will feature Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and his hosts, Felipe VI, King of Spain, and Queen Letizia at El Pardo, where foreign heads of state are usually accommodated on official visits.

The special event is part of the state visit of Colombias president during the week that will be dedicated to Colombia, a country that seeks to build support for the peace process and promote business and cultural cooperation.
In addition, Vives will travel on March 5 to Tenerife to The Cadena Dial Awards (Prisa Radio) where he will be receiving the “Gold Award”, a special edition honor commemorating 25 years of existence in the music industry.
Other artists expected to attend the ceremony are Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bosé, Hombres G, Melendi, Laura Pausini, Manuel Carrasco, Sergio Dalma, Malu, David Bisbal and Antonio Orozco, among others.
Vives has an impressive career behind him. In addition to being a singer, songwriter, actor, businessman and ambassador for UNICEF, he was also named the most important artist of 2013 in Latin America.
He is considered one of the greatest and most influential artists in music.
He has transcended barriers for over two decades, with over 30 million records sold, 12 Latin GRAMMY Awards, 35 nominations from the Latin Academy of Music and multiple gold and platinum discs.

If thats not enough, he also became the first Colombian artist to take home a gramophone from the Academy of Music and he recently received a GRAMMY at the 2015 event in the category Best Latin Tropical Album of the Year, the second in his career and one of the greatest achievements for a Colombian artist.
