Jennifer Lawrence has finally opened up about her leaked nude photos on the Internet, calling them a “sex crime” and sending a message to those who have viewed them.
The 24-year-old actress –as well as other celebrities, including Kate Upton and Ariana Grande– made headlines early September when a group of hackers obtained their nude photos illegally.

After keeping silent, Lawrence broke her silence in an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair magazine.
Just because Im a public figure, just because Im an actress, does not mean that I asked for this, Lawrence said. It does not mean that it comes with the territory. Its my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting.”

The Hollywood starlet told Vanity Fair contributor Sam Kashner that she can’t believe that “we even live in that kind of world.
Following the leaked pictures incident, Lawrence felt the need to release a statement, but never found the courage. She was afraid and unsure of how this would affect her career.
“Every single thing that I tried to write made me cry or get angry. I started to write an apology, but I dont have anything to say Im sorry for.”
The Oscar-winning star said she had a personal collection of risque photos because she was in a four-year loving, healthy and great long distance relationship at the time. “Either your boyfriend is going to look at porn or hes going to look at you,” she said.
And though she doesn’t owe anyone an apology or explanation, let alone to her loyal fans, Lawrence had one thing to say about the unfortunate situation.
It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. Its disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. Thats why these Web sites are responsible. Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebodys mind is to make a profit from it. Its so beyond me. I just cant imagine being that detached from humanity. I cant imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.
The “Hunger Games” actress also had a thing or two to say if you’re one of those people who have seen the nude photos.
“Youre perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures. I dont want to get mad, but at the same time Im thinking, I didnt tell you that you could look at my naked body.

Lawrence, who admitted that the toughest part of this terrible moment was telling her dad, has made peace with the mishap.
Time does heal, you know, Im not crying about it anymore. I cant be angry anymore. I cant have my happiness rest on these people being caught, because they might not be. I need to just find my own peace.
