After being crowned the new Miss Universe in January, Colombian beauty Paulina Vega has been one busy bee.
While on promotion following her big win at the beauty pageant, the world has had the chance to meet Vega up close and personal. In the midst of multiple interviews, we’ve discovered a down-to-earth person with a giddy sense of humor who is deeply proud of her Colombian roots.

And as the 22-year-old queen keeps making the rounds, we’ve also learned that she has an urge to encourage peace in her native country.
The FARC peace delegation also got the memo, making a promising invitation to Vega:

Vega, who is ready to help her country out in whichever way she can, responded: “I remain ready and willing to assist in any and all areas that will help promote further peace, stability and progress. The security of my country and peace within our borders remains a very big concern for me, my family, and all Colombians.”

Though her representatives are not sure if such visit would be permitted by the pageants guidelines, Vega is ready to give a lending hand.
“Throughout my year as Miss Universe, I will travel the globe and I plan to act as an ambassador for my country, promoting Colombian culture and all of the opportunities that it has to offer. That said, the main representative of Colombia is President Santos. If he and the Colombian government think I can be of any help, I remain ready,” she said in a statement released by Fox News Latinos.
