CityBase Closes a $6.25M Series B Funding Round to Connect Cities and Citizens

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CityBase, a government technology platform that connects cities and
citizens, today announced the close of a $6.25 million Series B funding
round led by a $4.0 million investment by KDWC Ventures, LLC.

CityBase is a Chicago-based company that helps cities reach and serve
residents and businesses online, on the phone and in person. The company
develops technology, designs payment and communication channels, and
aggregates operational data for municipalities, agencies, and utilities
based on their proprietary academic research, design and data-driven
analysis.

CityBase’s cloud-based SaaS platform integrates directly with local
governmental agency databases and centralizes the customer interactions
of multiple city agencies. The company’s products provide cities with
comprehensive information about their operations and revenue collection,
while providing citizens with a more unified and useful gateway to the
government.

KDWC Ventures was founded in 2015 and is among Chicago’s largest venture
funds. KDWC’s focus is on investing in B2B SaaS companies based in the
Midwest. It is helping to support Chicago’s rapidly growing tech startup
community.

“CityBase will be instrumental in applying technology common in the
private sector to solutions that address the unique context and
challenges faced by local government,” said KDWC partner Terry Diamond.
“We are looking forward to supporting CityBase as it helps local
governments utilize technology that provides better service to their
constituents and allows them to allocate increasingly scarce resources
to meet the needs of their citizens.”

“CityBase was born to help local governments evolve their revenue
collection and service delivery methods with the use of a SaaS based
technology platform that integrates and streamlines both city operations
and the citizen experience,” said Mike Duffy, founder and chief
executive officer of CityBase.
