Hoy San Diego, The San Diego Union-Tribune’s New Spanish-Language Publication, Delivers Award-Winning Journalism to the Latino Community

Now the largest Spanish-language publication in the region, Hoy
distributes 1.4 million copies each week

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–It’s a new day. The San Diego Union-Tribune’s Spanish-language
publication will be changing from Enlace to Hoy San Diego, starting
Feb. 13. Enlace originally launched in 1999 with the mission to
provide news, entertainment content and advertising to the Latino
communities in San Diego County and Baja California. Hoy San Diego
will continue to serve this community with award-winning journalism and
culturally-relevant content.

“It is an honor that Enlace, which has served the community for
16 years, will adopt the Hoy name,” says Roaldo Moran, Publisher
of Hoy. “Hoy San Diego will maintain that high standard
and commitment to informing the Latino community. And this expansion
will make Hoy the largest Spanish-language publication in
Southern California and Baja with a total weekly distribution of 1.4
million single copies.”

Delivered in a new tabloid format, Hoy San Diego will offer
readers trusted and credible content on topics such as education,
health, public services, immigration, entertainment and sports. Original
stories will be written by its San Diego-based journalists and Hoy
Los Angeles
staff. The publication will also curate, adapt and
translate relevant coverage from The San Diego Union-Tribune and Los
Angeles Times
.

“Our reporters bring exclusive local information that is culturally
relevant to the reader,” explains Lilia O’Hara, Editor of Hoy San
Diego
. “We are becoming a stronger instrument to advance the quality
of life for Latinos in Southern California.”

Hoy San Diego will be delivered to 134,000 households and
available at select retail locations and newspaper racks every Saturday.
With zone pages for the North and South regions of San Diego County, as
well as Riverside and Baja California editions of Hoy Fin de Semana,
Hoy
provides advertisers with expansive reach and efficient
targeting options in the most important Hispanic markets in the country.

“Advertising in Hoy is an effective way to reach Hispanic
consumers throughout the region,” says Rita Jurczyk, Senior Director
National & Key Advertising at The San Diego-Union Tribune. “Hoy
also extends into other important markets, with publications in Chicago,
Philadelphia and Central and South Florida.”

Along with Hoy San Diego, The San Diego Union-Tribune will
continue to publish the Spanish-language entertainment and lifestyle
weekly Vida Latina San Diego and its website, vidalatinasd.com.
