Eva Longoria directs inspirational film about Little Mariachi
Eva Longoria is off to great and wonderful things in 2015. One of the tasks on her agenda is a film about the “Little Mariachi” –the kid who was once the center of controversy. While promoting her new project Versus for ESPN at the Television Critics Association this week, Longoria talked about her anticipated short film series that she’s executive producing for the sports channel. Despite his powerful presentation, the Mexican-American singer became a victim of racist tweets and online bullying for being Latino and performing in his mariachi suit. His inspirational story is now headed to the small screen thanks to Longoria. “I really wanted to tell that story because what came out of it was something beautiful and a really great lesson,” Eva told the Television Critics Association, reports Daily Mail. “We got into this little boy who plays soccer and was thrown into the center of this debate about immigration and what it’s about to be Mexican,” she added of the young star who is a Texas native like her.
