Former ‘Power Rangers’ star allegedly murdered roommate

A former “Power Ranger” is in big trouble with the law after allegedly killing his roommate over the weekend. Ricardo Medina Jr., known for his role as Cole Evans/Red Wild Force Ranger in the 2002 “Power Rangers Wild Force” TV series, has been arrested on suspicion of killing his roommate with a sword. SEE ALSO: Floyd Mayweather a witness to a murder-suicide The news made the rounds Monday morning that Medina was being held on $1 million bail in connection with the stabbing and death of Joshua Sutter, 36, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials say. The fatal incident occurred at the apartment both men shared for approximately two months in Palmdale, Calif. shortly after 4 p.m. local time on Saturday. A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said that the roommates got into an argument that escalated into a fight shortly. According to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez, Medina locked himself in his room with his girlfriend. Sutter then forced open the bedroom door, causing the TV actor to allegedly pick up the sword and stab Sutter in the abdomen. Medina called the police himself. Upon arrival at the hospital, Sutter was pronounced dead. His agent, Gar Lester, finds the allegations against his client “hard to believe,” reports Los Angeles Times. “He’s been my friend and client for 12 years and he’s a great guy,”  Lester told the L.A.-based newspaper. “He’s great to his dog, he’s great to his people. He’s really a super person.” In addition to his role in the “Power Rangers” TV series, Medina has also appeared in episodes of “ER” and “CSI: Miami.” This is not the first time a “Power Ranger” cast member has made news.
