Oh yeah, she also went topless, wearing only high-rise jean shorts, red hoop earrings and a red and white polka dot bow. Her hair was fluffed up with curls that rang of her Hispanic background.

She was interviewed by none other than her Spring Breakers costar James Franco, and although she didn’t mention her ex Justin Bieber by name, she does speak about their past relationship.

“I think the next time [I have a boyfriend] will be much different. I was 18-years-old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I’m guarding certain things more . . . When you’re young and you’re being told so many different things . . . It almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way. It was really weird but it was incredible.”

Gomez didn’t enjoy life in the spotlight as much as most would think.

Things got really bad, she said, when she and Beiber broke up and the tabloid scrutiny that came along with such a gossip-worthy breakup was too much to handle.

Living such a public life, constantly under the microscope, made her anxiety so overwhelming that there were a few months when she was “a little depressed. I wouldn’t leave [my home] as much. I think I drove myself crazy a little bit. It was just easier to say, ‘Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up? I don’t want to get photographed.’”

However, that feeling seems to be fading. Gomez is optimistic about 2015 saying she “think[s] this year is going to be incredible. I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m super stoked that I’ve got some bumps on me, some scars, some bruises. I actually really love that. I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?”

Now, rather than letting the media affect her life, she tries not to focus on the rumors and the speculation, saying she doesn’t read anything about herself anymore.

“I don’t spend time tiptoeing around certain things, because the things I’m going to do aren’t bad,” she said. “I’ll be 23 soon and I could go to a bar or go to the movies. I could do what I like.”
