Everything about forming part of a reality TV talent show sounds nerve-racking. From tough competition, to intimidating judges, to facing eliminations. One aspiring singer kept her cool while she participated at Univision’s “Va Por Ti” and ultimately became the season winner.

Meet Yazaira Lopez –the Puerto Rican songstress who beat 27 other contestants in the three month long talents competition.

Lopez took by storm the judges and viewers with her powerhouse vocals. She always seemed to impress week after week, as she interpreted songs such as Camila’s “Alejate de Mi,” Alejandra Guzman’s “Yo Te Esperaba” and Juan Gabriel’s “Te Sigo Amando.”

Now, as the winner of “Va Por Ti,” Lopez nabbed a contract with record label Warner Music and is ready to take over the world with her debut album “Yazaira” ?consisting of three original tracks and nine covers.

Here’s what she told VOXXI about her journey thus far.

VOXXI (V): Who chose the cover tracks that made it to the album?

Yazaira (Y): The tracks are the songs that I interpreted in the show and they were picked based on the amount of views and ratings from the show.

V: What is your biggest inspiration?

Y: Everything that I live day to day.

V: What other genres, besides romantic ballads, would you like to explore?

Y: Salsa and pop-rock

V: How has your life changed after winning “Va Por Ti“?

Y: It’s changed because all my priorities change, like being far away from my family and becoming more independent.

V: Describe your experience in the show with three words:

Y: Dedication, focus and vocation.

V: If you could collaborate with five artists in your next album, who would they be?

Y: Tommy Torres, Ricky Martin, Nathalia Jimenez, Laura Pausini and Marc Anthony.

V: What plans do you have for 2015?

Y: Have my first concert and win an award as Best New Artist of the Year.
