South Beach Restaurant and Lounge brings a fun touch of Miami to Manhattan’s Washington Heights. Located on the pumping St. Nicholas Avenue strip, the white interior gives it a sexy yet classy feel. The restaurant and lounge are separate so you have the option of a low-key or high pulse evening.

When I visited the lounge on a recent Saturday night, I danced to a mix of salsa, merengue and bachata. The lounge is a decent size with enough tables where you can stand and order a drink or hookah. Tip: On Friday’s and Sunday’s there’s no cover charge and best of all hookahs are free for everyone.

With the summer season winding down, give yourself an excuse to wear your favorite white outfit this Saturday at South Beach for its last “white party” of the summer. Entrance is free before 11 p.m. and after that, ladies get in with $10 and guys $20. DJ JStar and DJ Joan will be on for the night. Keep in mind, white attire really is a must.
