Enjambre is back with a new CD, loaded with great music. And the band’s fans will not be disappointed because Enjambre is sticking to its roots: classic Latin rock with excellent vocals and instrumentation.

Add to this a more elaborated production, thanks to Phil Vinall, a top music producer who worked with artists such as Radiohead, Placebo, Bomba Stereo, Little Richard, Zoé, and many more.

“Our producer was a very positive addition,” said Julian Navejas, keyboardist of Enjambre, during a phone interview with VOXXI. “Our new CD, ‘Proaño’ is more elaborated than the previous ones.”

With this fifth album just released, Enjambre decided to take the road again and is starting a USA tour. Later comes South America, and in March, the band will make a second appearance in the most important Latin American music festival, “Vive Latino”, in Mexico City.

The band started in Zacatecas, Mexico, when three of the Navejas brothers and a friend got together to play music. They later emigrated to Santa Ana, California to work. But music, again, brought them together. The band played gigs around Los Angeles and recorded its first album, “Consuelo en Domingo.”

In 2008, the group took a radical decision all in the name of their music.

“We went back to Mexico, this time to Mexico City,” explained Julian. “We worked hard and it paid off.”

It certainly did, in 2009 the band was invited to play for the first time at Vive Latino. Many other presentations and tours followed, as well as three new CDs.

“Our lyrics are about simple, daily things… Of course we also sing about more complex, social issues too,” said Julian. “We like to improve ourselves on each album.”

To proof this statement about the “simple things” the band sings about, one can just play the song “Hematófago,” included in the new album. Its about a… Mosquito flying around a person (you or me) trying to sleep. Lovely, the insect becomes the company of the lonely sleeper. The music plays nicely the sound of a flying mosquito to the point you actually end up wishing to hear a real one!

“Our musical influence is very wide… We like, of course, The Beatles, Doors, Rolling Stones and other classic rock’n rollers,” said Julian. “Nevertheless, we also like our Latin roots, like Sandro, Leo Dan, José Jos酔

Most importantly, as Julian expressed, Enjambre has its own flavor and personality. And the new album of the band proves him right.
